Best Burial Insurance in Texas

The best burial insurance in Texas is the one you can afford!

That may sound odd, but let me explain. If you can only afford a $10,000 plan, but want a $20,000 plan, then the $10,000 is the best for you.

The reason being, the best burial insurance or any life insurance policy for that matter is the one that is there when you pass away. If you overstretch yourself and your budget, you will ultimately miss a payment on your policy and it will lapse. This will leave you with no coverage at all, and you will have to get re-rated for another policy.

So the best thing to do is to talk with a trusted advisor, like myself. Someone who has been specializing in this field of insurance for many years and has written more policies than they can count!

For simplistic and time saving purposes, I have it available to even get a quote for yourself here on this site. You can click the “Check Burial Insurance Rates Here” button, and fill out the form. Once you do that, it will show you all of your options with the top A+ Rated carriers available in Texas, including the price!

You can select what plan you want if you wish, or you can always just get in touch with me directly and I can assist you to find the best plan for you.

I do have some personal favorites for my clients in Texas, as well as favorites Nationwide! I will list them here:

Mutual of Omaha

Mutual of Omaha remains one of my top carriers across the nation, and they are available in Texas! Most everyone has heard of Mutual of Omaha from either television commercials, or the TV show that aired in the 70’s, “Wild Kingdom”. Mutual of Omaha was the primary sponsor of the show.

They have fantastic rates, and are great for my clients that are in good health with no to moderate health issues. For example: Someone that is in a healthy weight range, maybe they are prescribed high blood pressure medication, cholesterol meds, etc. This will be my absolute first choice, especially if they have an email that they can access.

Mutual of Omaha is a simple process, you simply answer the health questions provided on the application, and they do a prescription check to verify everything you have said is truthful. To sign on your application, you simply receive an email with instructions, and sign it over your phone or computer. It is a pretty simple electronic signature! Fast and easy.

Aetna/CVS

Aetna/CVS has a tremendous burial insurance product, and one that I recommend to a large variety of my clients.

I love this company because they are so versatile with what they accept as far as health issues go. They have strengths that Mutual of Omaha doesn’t, and when I need those strengths, Aetna/CVS is my go to!

For example: If someone has COPD but is not currently taking oxygen, they qualify for day one coverage with CVS. Meaning they will literally be covered before they go to sleep that night. Whereas with Mutual, they would undergo a 2-year waiting period. So for this case, CVS is the best option!

They have extremely competitive rates, sometimes better than Mutual of Omaha, and the best thing is their signature process. It is the easiest process in the entire industry by far. To sign your application for coverage with Aetna/CVS, you simply provide an answer to a security question. That’s it! Once that is done, they even have what they call, “Express Underwriting” which can provide an instant answer for your client as to whether they are approved, denied, or if the underwriting team needs to review it.

Overall, this company is economically effective, and very streamlined.

Royal Neighbors of America

Royal Neighbors, or RNA as I call them, has one of the best histories and stories of all of the insurance carriers out there. The company originated in the late 1800’s, and the founders were 9 women. How wild is that? I can’t imagine how tough the world must have been for women back then, much less for women wanting to start a business as big as an insurance company. Hats off to them!

RNA is fantastic for a number of reasons. They have great living benefits for their policyholders, competitive rates, and they have their own niche clients as well.

For my clients that have issues like diabetic neuropathy, bipolar disorder or any mental health issues, RNA is fantastic! They can qualify for day one coverage most of the time, and they get all the same benefits!

RNA policyholders have access to many discounts, a free basic will, and many other good benefits just for having a policy under them. Their rates are not as low as others like Mutual of Omaha, or CVS, but it is hard to beat a company with that history and those benefits.

Prosperity Life

Prosperity Life is an amazing carrier that gets a lot of my business as well. They are great for a variety of clients, including those who want a Term policy instead of burial insurance or final expense! They can serve a wide variety this way.

Their rates are very competitive, and they have an amazing “Graded” policy. This is for my clients that maybe have COPD and are taking oxygen, recent heart attack or stroke instances, or diabetic neuropathy with complications. These health issues call for a graded plan, which will mean the client has a 2-year waiting period.

The great thing is that with Prosperity, if you were to pass away in those first 2 years, your beneficiary will still receive a check from them! It will be 110% of the premiums that you have paid. So every payment you have made, and Prosperity throws 10% interest on top of it!

This is a great deal for my clients that are in more difficult circumstances and need the coverage!

The signature process is fairly simple. We first fill out an electronic application, then call in to Prosperity for the health questions. They will give an instant decision, which I absolutely love! My clients don’t have to worry about whether they will get approved or not with Prosperity.

Great Western

Great Western is my go to carrier for my clients that need a “Guaranteed Issue” policy. This means the client has severe health issues like current cancer, COPD with oxygen, heart attacks and stroke, etc.

Great Western has a fantastic guaranteed issue plan, and it is the best priced of its nature in my opinion. They are very quick to issue, and have excellent customer service as well.

GW also has a level day one plan, but in my professional opinion, it is just a little too expensive to make the list for my clients! I only provide the best and best priced!

The signature process is very simple, just a 3-way call in to a recorded line where I read a script and collect your signature verbally.

Why do I need Burial Insurance?

This answer is very simple: Everyone will pass away some day. This means that every one of us have people that will be financially responsible for providing us with a proper burial.

As you probably know, burials aren’t cheap! Even for cremations.

On average, it costs between $8,000 and $12,000 to bury someone, and that is on the low end. I have personally seen much higher costs, and some lower as well.

The thing to remember is that we are not planning on dying tomorrow, we are planning for 15, 20, or even 30 years from now. With inflation, can you imagine how much these funerals will cost by that time? It could easily double or triple! That is why you should consult with a professional to see what is absolutely the best burial insurance options for you!

Closing Thoughts

In short, I believe everyone should have burial insurance. Even if they already have a term policy, IUL, whole life, or any other life policy, you should have a final expense burial life policy.

Use these plans to pay for the funeral, and the other to provide for your family! That is the goal here!

Especially for Texas residents, you should all consider these options and make a decision on what is best for you and your family. The day will come when it will be too late, so don’t wait for that.

As always, leave your questions and comments for me down below or reach out to me directly. I look forward to serving you and your families!

God Bless.
